Beautiful Bone Broth for Great Skin, Hair and Nails!

Updated: Sep 5, 2020

Plus a healthy Gut and less Inflammation, so fewer allergies and intolerances and better Immunity. Bone Broth is a Girl’s best friend!

You will all know by now I love ancestral styles of eating so my trusty slow cooker is simmering away most days with either grass-fed meats or meaty bones like pastured oxtail or chicken necks.

Why I love this superhuman superfood;

*It tastes delicious

*It packs some serious nutrition, rich in vitamins and minerals

*Provides anti-inflammatory amino acids to heal and maintain a healthy gut

*The bones, marrow and connective tissue of animals have COLLAGEN, brew this and you get GELATIN, once cooled it looks like jelly..YUM I can eat it off the spoon!

Here’s the kicker, this stuff nourishes joints, hair, nails and improves the texture, elasticity and glow of the skin. Who doesn’t want that?

Here’s the problem-we are living in a BROTHal! Yep our apartment smells of bone broth, my furniture smells of bone broth, my linen smells of bone broth, my dog smells of bone broth!! The benefits of this ancient nectar are well documented, I won’t get nerdy with the science, but like sleep and sunlight I just have to have it..and my husband is fed up! If you have a well ventilated kitchen and can close it off at night I’m so envious.

To save our marriage he has come up with the brilliant idea of putting the slow cooker out on our balcony next to the BBQ and YES it works brilliantly! Apartment back to smelling like lemongrass and bergamot.

If you’re interested in making your own broth from scratch (here’s an easy recipe for slow cooker bone broth - https://www.leanco.com.au/post/slow-cooker-bone-broth) if that’s a bit ambitious there are fresh options available at good grocery stores in

Australia but they are over-budget for me.This concentrated stock pictured here is a great alternative at just over

$1 per serve but be aware it’s nowhere near as tasty as the real thing...just saying.
